Type Locality and Naming

In the Andygenta Mountains, Turkestan Range. V. I. Kotel'nikov in 1974 (459, p. 280).

Synonym: Andygen Series, Андыгенская сер.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestones with lenses of cherts, bauxites, allites, conglomerate-breccias. Thickness 400-850m. It unites the deposits of the Gaz Fm and Kauzan Fm (443;460).

Lower contact

Along the stratigraphic position, it lies on the Peshkaut Fm, with erosion or in a continuous section

Upper contact

It is overlain by the Tolubay Fm

Regional extent

Turkestan and northern foothills of the Alai Range, South Fergana; most fully represented in Kyrgyzstan.
